SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

IT IS MANDATORY TO READ ALL THE INFORMATION ON THIS PAGE BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR WORK

Submission dates will be announced on our social media in advance. Any submissions sent outside of those dates will be automatically disregarded.
We accept works in English only.
Written submissions are limited to 3 per person, per issue. We welcome any format and word count. Music submissions are limited to 5 per person, per issue. Art and photography submissions are unlimited.
You shall use the following format for the email subject line: submission: theme, sphere (art, philosophy, literature, cinematography, history, self-development,etc), genre (poetry/fiction/article/essay/art/ekphrasis/photography), "Title". Note that in case you mark your piece as "untitled" we might add a title we find suitable for it. If your work is supposed to stay untitled, please state so in your submission.
The submission must include your name or nickname you go by and the size (word count) of your work. We would appreciate getting a short bio, stating, for example, your field of interest, your major, hobbies, your location etc.
Submissions must be based on the issue's theme. Make sure you visited this page in order to fully understand the theme of the issue you’re submitting to.
Your written work and photography should be ready for publication, but it might be edited, formatted or cropped by us to fit the visual concept of the issue. If you wish your work to remain completely untouched, please state so in the submission.
Note, that once you have submitted your work to The Carmen Magazine, you are not allowed to publish your piece elsewhere. The process of consideration usually takes from one to three weeks, therefore please wait for the result before submitting your work to another platform. Sending the same submission twice or unrelated emails is prohibited and might get you banned.
All submissions must be original and unpublished. By submitting, you confirm that you hold full rights to every aspect of your work. Recycled work is strictly prohibited. However, adaptation of your already existing piece to an issue's theme is allowed. Usage of Al is prohibited.
Attach written content as a PDF unless this affects formatting. In that case, use Microsoft Word or Google Docs. Submit photography and art as JPEG or PNG files, music in MP3 or WAV.
Submissions with incorrect format, as well as ones that do not follow the issue's theme, contain other languages than english, or confront any other guidelines will be ignored.
